Tips for Tuesday
Household:
Plastic Bowls smell of leftovers? Make a baking soda paste and let set overnight before washing.
Add a few drops of perfume/cologne to the water in your steam iron to give clothes a fresh, light fragrance.
Unclog a drain by mixing 1 c. baking soda, 1 c. salt and 1 c. of white vinegar. Pour down the drain, wait 15 min. and follow with boiling water.
Lemon Juice removes adhesive tape and gum from hands and clothes.
Clean artificial flowers and greenery by putting them in a paper bag with salt. Shake vigorously. The dust will settle with the salt, leaving your flowers clean!
Outside:
Keep steps ice free by pouring warm water mixed with Dawn dish soap over them.
Plant marigolds to ward off harmful garden bugs without using an insecticide.
Use a water hose to spray leaves into a pile. They will be easier to add to the compost or load in a bag, and won't blow everywhere.
Save your fireplace ashes for the garden to keep out slugs!
Get tree sap off your deck by soaking a rag in mineral spirits and carefully rubbing the spot. Rinse and follow with an all purpose cleaner.
Beauty & Health:
Mix coconut oil and lemon juice and apply to scalp to help dandruff.
Stop itchy skin by pouring 1c. of apple cider vinegar into your bath water.
Soak hands in warmed milk to strengthen nail and hydrate skin.
Spray your finished makeup with a fine mist of water to seal it.

I didn't know that about unclogging the drain! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the itchy skin apple cider in bath idea.
Thanks for the Dawn Dish Detergent and water to prevent icy steps.
I am going to try the few drops of Cologne in the steam iron the next time I iron hubbies clothes. I like his Polo cologne on him.
Love the tips, thanks.
Blueviolet, you can actually do this once every couple of weeks to keep your drains from clogging, too. It helps prevent odors in the kitchen.
LH, My 9 year old has eczema and I'm hoping that the bath water idea helps his itchy skin!
