Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom: Hello!

Ok, so here we go…

My name is Jami, and I am a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM). I have a gorgeous 9 year old son, and a beautiful 3 year old daughter. My husband and I got married at the tender (and absolutely crazy) age of 17, and have been married for more than 12 years. We live in a small southern Indiana town that I adore.
I love all kinds of things-reading, gardening, crafting, but I am most passionate about BARGAIN HUNTING! My mother loves to call me a tight wad, but I disagree. It’s all about the game and the hunt. What’s the most I can get for the least amount of money, or better yet, FREE? Put aside the fact that we are on a tight budget, and with the current economy have our money belts cinched so tight that we can barely breathe. I love the fact that we can live just a little bit better because of the bargains I find. The only thing is, my family and friends are tired of hearing me go on and on about how I got this or, what I did to get that, or how I fought an old lady over the last can of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom because they were on sale for $.99 and the store was doubling coupons, and I just happened to have a $.50 off 1 coupon. Just joking, that last didn’t really happen, well… at least not over a can of Campbell’s. But anyway, on to my blog.
Since I can’t get anyone to listen, I thought maybe I could hopefully, get someone to read. I hope you will decide to join me while I learn to be a good steward of what I’ve been given. I plan on updating four days a week, one day for each category.
Sunday- This is the ‘S My Life day. I’ll just go on a bit about how me and the family are doing and what we’ve done the previous week. This is also the day that I will post links for freebies that I have found.
Monday- I’m calling this Mad Money Monday. As I said before, I love a bargain, and the best bargain you can find is something you get for free that you actually will use. No this isn’t really a freebie site, but I will give links to the things I have gotten, along with pics of everything free from my mailbox the previous week. This is also the day that I will be posting the coupon and grocery, CVS, Walgreens, etc. deals you can get this week. If you don’t stop by any other day, make sure you do on Mondays just for that!
Wednesday-This is the day that I will list frugal household tips, cooking shortcuts, tasty (cheap) recipes, organizing tricks I’m trying, etc., therefore, I will call this Working Wednesday. I will also post (with links) the sweepstakes I have entered, so check back often to see what you can sign up for!
Friday- My favorite posts will be on this day! I will tell you all about the bargains I’ve gotten for the week, and how you can hopefully get them for yourself. I’ve always been a coupon clipper but am just now learning the art of coupon stacking. More about that, later. I will also let you know about any new frugal living adjustment we may have made and how it’s working out. Best yet, I will post pics of everything! This will be known as Feel Good Friday, because I can give myself a pat on the back for helping save money in the budget.
